39.05

First time ever, 39.05 degrees. Last Thursday night, darling was coughing away. And soon high fever kicked in in the early morning and first time ever hitting a 39.05 degrees. This sent mummy into a state of panicky and worry. Darling had never had such a high fever before. Without hestitation, she gave darling Bifen. A medicine for high fever. What followed next is the question, should darling be admitted to A&E?

Since it was wee hours in the morning when the high fever was discovered, mummy thought the best is to send to hospital. Luckily we had a cool cool daddy, who asked mummy to monitor darling first. After taking the medication, darling's fever subsided to 37+. And when the clinic opened, we went down to see doc. Medication were prescribed, however things didnt go well.

Over the weekends, fever was going up and down. Mummy and aunty ruby took turns to sponge darling during the nights. Was a tough time for the 3 of us.

Today, mummy brought darling back to doc for review. GP said darling might have developed Bronchitis. My oh my. Darling had to undergo medication via the machine called nebulizer for 5 days.

At the clinic, darling went through the first treatment. Darling was screaming away, but mummy didnt gave in. Hold on tight and ensure darling inhaled the mist. I know deep down she is in pain to see her darling yelling away. After awhile, I guess darling somehow understands that this medication will do me good. When we got back home, when we need to do the 2nd dosage, darling didnt struggle at all. Darling was very cooperative and sit quietly in mummy's arms and went thru the dosage without any cries. Hee, mummy was impressed on how well darling is coping with the nebulizer. Not all kids can do this well. Heee....mummy is so proud with darling.

This is the machine:

Not so scary after all.

Hope the next few days, darling will get better. Anyway, other than the bad coughing and fever, darling is still active. Still participate in games with mummy.

We played scoping of pingpong balls and fishing.

Racial Harmony Day

Today is Racial Harmony Day. The Odyssey will be celebrating this day with a series of activities and we are supposed to dress in our culture costume. Heee, now i can wear the dress that aunty Kavitha gave me to the fashion parade.

The dress is way too big for me. So mummy did some magic and I am now able to wear it for this event.

This is before mummy did her magic...

This is the after...

Ohhh I need to bring along a signature dish for this event. Mummy bought darling a pandan chiffon cake to bring to school.

Lesson 3 @ Julia Gabriel

This week at JG is about PURPLE. We were told to dress up in purple clothes. Mummy did this specially for me. Isnt she SWEEEEET? In midst of all the busy schedule, mummy made a 2-tire purple skirt for me. To make it complete, I had a matching top to go with the poka dots skirt.

I put on a matching purple socks too...

Back view...nice?

Fun Activities @ Home

Anything to do with water is a fun thing to kids. Darling loves to play with water. And my aiming is getting better. I am able to pour the water into the pot "quite" accurately. LOL....

Mummy made this activity more difficult by giving darling a narrow openning glass.

Yesterday, teachers at the Odyssey brought the kids to a nearby pond to see fish. So today, mummy taught darling what animals live in the water. We had sharks, crocodiles and hippo....Funny thing is, darling doesnt want croc and hippo to be in the water with the sharks...

Naughty hippo and crocky are not allowed in my "pond".

So, only sharks are allowed...LOL

More scooping....

It's time to clean up...
Clean up, Clean up, everybody everywhere,
Clean up, Clean up, everybody do your share...

Smell the scent...Mummy bought some spices for darling.

19months Old

Darling is 19 months old today. Few things I have achieved so far:

1. Attend childcare @ The Odyssey
2. Attend enrichment class @ Julia Gabriel
3. Few words that I can say now: Yes (ang), ma, dadi, egg, hola, please, no more...
4. Few things I can do now: Pull down my pants, lift up my shirt (half way only, still need mummy to take it off), remove my pampers (those velcro type), take off my shoes, put my shoes on the shoe cabinets...

Day 2 @ The Odyssey

Getting ready for my 2nd day @ The Odyssey. Trying to put on the shoes myself, LOL but couldn't. Mummy put them on for me. Then I was trying to take them off myself.

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....how to take them off??

Playtime before the class starts...

I look so "steady" in this pic...hahah like as if i can ride this bike...

It is the smallest things that a school does that goes a long way. This is the shoe rack for the students. They labelled all the shoes slots for the students and teachers...
Here's my very own shoes slot....

This is my childcare centre...

Day 1 @ The Odyssey

Finally, the day is here. First day at the childcare, The Odyssey. I woke around 7:30am, it's my usual wake up time. Not for mummy though. Mummy usually wake up around 8:15 - 8:30am. But today, she woke up as early as 7:15am. LOL...toooo excited i guess.

We had breakfast and had a bath. Then darling wore my "school uniform". Mummy finds the school uniform abit boyish. Very explorer like, as if I am going for an adventure. LOL....

Anyway, I put on my uniform and as usual, posed for mummy.

Took a pic with my mummy.

Took some pics in the cab.

Worry Anxiety and Excitement

Yes, it was a moment full of mixed feelings. Not from me (i am too young to "feel" all these), it's from my mummy. You see, I will be going to the childcare tomorrow. Mummy is worried sick. She is full of worries. Let me list down for you:

1. What if darling has separation anxiety?
2. What if darling is not used to the environment?
3. What if darling is bullied in the school?
4. What if darling needs to poo and no teacher knows about it?
5. What if darling is thristy or hungry and no teacher tends to her?
6. What if darling is looking for mummy and cant stop crying?
7. What if ....

I think there is a lot more which I cant remember. Of course, other than worries, she is excited at the same time. Cant wait to see that her little one is able to cope with independence and able to socialize with kids of her age.

Daddy on the other hand is pretty cool cool cucumber. He is not worried at all and have total faith in darling. He knows darling will be able to make it and get to enjoy the company of friends. So, lets see how it goes tomorrow. Let's hope for the best.

Mummy made a diaper pouch for darling. And all my items are labelled with my
name.

H is for Hat, H is for Hedgehog

Mummy was on leave today. We had a good start for the week by doing lots of arts and craft that begins with the letter H.

H is for so many things...but we did a few easier ones...We made a hat, drew a hedgehog and i gave mummy a heart full of pom poms.

Hat made by aunty ruby cos mummy doesnt know how to make...LOL

Used handprints to make the spikey prickly hedgehog's body...

Hahah my hairchair becomes my drying rack..

Finally, a heart full of pompoms.

Done....wow....

Yeah, clap clap...

Fun Activities in a Bag

Just to show you what reuse and recycle means in our house, I will show you a sample of darling's items.

Mummy found some travel bags and laundry bag that she collected from her biz trips. She reused them and they became darling's learning kits! We have different bags for different learning tools. See....

Every night, darling will bring one of these bags to mummy to play together. We have "match the colour", "match the animals", "match the shapes", "find the items", stacking, cooking, musical instruments, etc.....

We even have toys that mummy made herself. We used sterofoams, cardboards, paperclips, leaves, stones, etc to play diferent games. You just need some creativity and imagination! I am sure you will have fun too....

G is for Guitar, G is for Go

Over the weekends, mummy and I made a Guitar. Mummy asked daddy what does G stand for? and Daddy said "Guitar". So we made one! We used the Cheerios box, coloured paper and yarn.

First mummy cut out the shape of the guitar, punched holes on the ends so that we can put on the yarn as the guitar strings. Darling is incharged of sticking the pieces together. There are 2 layers of cardboard to make it stiffer. Then mummy string the yarn through the holes. Viola, a DIY guitar is done.

We moved on to make a Go & Stop signs. After making these, we played the Go & Stop games. When mummy says GO...I will continue to walk. When she held up the Stop sign, Darling stopped! Yes, it was fun.

Are u ready?

Goooooooo....

Darling will throw away the Go sign when mummy says Go. LOL....

Lesson 1 @ Julia Gabriel

My first lesson @ Julia Gabriel. Has been waiting very long for this term to start. We were at the long waiting list and now finally able to attend the FIRST official "school".

Mummy enrolled darling in JG Bilingual Playclub on every Saturday 11:30am.

Knock knock may I come in? Taking my first step into my classroom.

Lots of toys awaiting for us. While we were waiting for all parents to arrive, we get to play with huge lego blocks, animals, helmets, and many more...

Darling went and grabbed the biggest and heaviest Rhino.

Small aligator...

Done with animals, moving on to shapes...

All sort of fun hats...darling wanna get the fireman hat, but was snatched away by another kid...hmmmm...anyway i am happy with these...

Guess who am I now? Adorable policewoman?

JG class starts at 11:30am, should be my milk time and orh orh time...shall have a snack first before the class starts....

Guess what? Mummy was impressed with darling. When teacher Rino called my name, I went up to get my name tag from him. Mummy thought darling will be shy and wouldnt dare to go forward. But mummy was wrong. When my name was called, I went forward without being told. Heeee....seee....

Lesson started and it was entertaining. We first have some sing-along sessions...followed by phonics. Today it was the letter D. D for dragon. And because I am attending bilingual class, we were taught what is Dragon in chinese. It's called Long!
Then we were taught how to make a dragon crown and also a dragon banner.

My DIY Dragon Crown.

Dragon banner

My chinese name. This is my first time using my chinese name.

Okie, after arts & crafts, we had snacks. Teacher Hong is serving darling some apple juice. Yummmm...

We had corn flakes, sausages and papaya. Darling doesnt like sausages and papaya. I gave to mummy.

Mummy, you want some?

Wow, mouthful of flakes in darling's mouth...so not ladylike. LOL....

Okie, after some reminders from mummy, I will be demure. Is this okie, mummy?

Putting my crown on the drying rack. Waiting for the glue to dry up.

After snack was story telling time. It's a chinese story about a dog who lost his ball, and the flying dragon came to help him. After that, it was outdoor fun. Darling loves this police car. Wouldnt let mummy open the door. No way is she going to get me out of this car.
My oh my, darling is driving a police car.

Gonna chase after that thief.
Err, hey my car stalled....
Come and help me, mummy!

Okie, I was having so much fun in that police car for a whole 5 mins, mummy got to drag darling out of the car to play with other stuff at the yard.
Hey, motorbike is even more fun than the police car. I was having so much fun because.....
my poor mummy was so worried that darling will topple from the bike. Lol.....seeing her going "wow, ohhhh, wooooooo careful darling!", darling couldnt helped but LAUGH!

Heeee, was fun mummy!

Okie we moved on to the slides.

Hey wat is this?

Wat can I see through this? My mummy is over there!

@ Julia Gabriel

Darling gonna make pineapple tarts. Daddy's favourite! Shall we just dump the whole pineapple in?

Back to class for another round of fun and action. Look at how engrossed are the kids!

Overall, I find that the first lesson was structured, organized and entertaining. Of course, mummy is not able to capture all the moments we had in the class. We were too busy doing the actions and listening to the exciting story. And being in the bilingual class does help. At least mummy get to learn how to sing "Incy Wincy Spider" in chinese!!!!!!
I think darling is very occupied during the whole 2 hours. Although the first 15-20 mins was abit chaotic because the teachers were busy checking our hands and foot for HFMD, getting to know our names, doing registration, etc....overall, mummy and I like the school.
